This Way Up is a creative wellbeing project for people living in Wolverhampton and Staffordshire. Working with professional artists Priya Mistry, Carolyn Morton, Ildiko Nagy, Emma Price, Ben Sadler, Sarah Taylor Silverwood, Alice Thatcher and Jamila Walker – This Way Up wellbeing workshops were open to all. Offering time away from the routine and stress of everyday life, the project provided an opportunity to develop art, craft and design skills in a welcoming and sociable space, inspired by gallery collections.
We worked in partnership with the Refugee and Migrant Centre (Wolverhampton, Black Country & Birmingham), This Way Up provided creative space for asylum seekers, refugees and migrants living in Wolverhampton. This Way Up took place at Wolverhampton Art Gallery, Shire Hall Gallery, Perton and Wombourne Libraries in Stafford
