Fabric hangings created with the Health Hub

Decorative Fabrics and Printing:  a collaboration between whatsthebigmistry, Attenborough Arts Centre, The African Caribbean Centre  and members of our community.

Featuring a showcase of gorgeous decorative fabric hangings created with the Health Hub Group during their workshops with whatsthebigmistry at Attenborough Arts Centre, The African Caribbean Centre over the two months.

This took place at  from March-May 2025, with Priya Mistry to explore and evoke  joy with marginalised communities – focusing on acts of decolonisation, celebration, communing and much more. The residency is part of a multi-city programme of activity and events.

Central to the programme is Mistry’s first solo exhibition ‘The Empire’s Old Clothes’ at Attenborough Arts Centre (Leicester) from 24 April – 29 June 2025. This programme of work is at once a provocation and an invitation to re-think and re-write ‘histories’, to demand change and define what it really means to take action against racism.
