OODOISM: Black & Brown Joy – International Commission – Sharing Event

International collaboration – Priya Mistry (UK) x Tsoku Maela (South Africa)

What is Black & Brown joy?

What is needed for a successful and ethical international working?

You are invited to join international collaborating artists Priya Mistry (UK) and Tsoku Maela (South Africa) as they share their practice and process, as well as the resulting artwork, from OODOISM: Black & Brown Joy.

This relationship has developed over the course of two years, with Priya undertaking two residencies in SA and working alongside Tsoku with a team of SA creatives to create film and photographic work inspired by thematics including afro/indian and indigenous futurism and alternative futures, joy, power and decolonisation.

OODOISM brings together two disabled identifying black / brown artists, from different countries and cultures, to create an international collaboration.

Princess Zinzi Mhlongo (OODOISM SA Producer, International Live Arts and Film Producer and founder of African Entertainers) will be holding the space for the conversation.

OODOISM: Black & Brown Joy is supported by Unlimited with funding from The British Council.
