The Onyx project puts disabled artists and creatives with lived experience of racism in the driving seat.
Delivered through three related strands of activity from Spring 2021 to Autumn 2022, Onyx is a vital package of timely support and creative work for and led by disabled creatives and freelancers.
The project originated as part of DAO’s 2020 Covid-19 response and urgent anti-racism activity. Onyx makes a firm commitment to employing freelancers and initiating care-driven, sustainable working practices, aiming to embed anti-racism into DAO and challenge intersectional discrimination in the wider sector.
